Hey Stupid
Hey Stupid began in the year 2003, and was the brain child of E-Rokk. After E-Rokk moved from his one room shack in the woods of Pennsylvania he became aware of the exactly how blatantly awful the American public as a whole had become. The only word that he could come up with to define the depths that society had reached was ‘Stupid’. Sheer stupidity. The dictionary defines stupid as : “acting in an unintelligent or careless manner c: lacking intelligence or reason” and that is ass that E-Rokk saw as he looked around. Through his travels he has met a few select individuals who share not only certain views about the severe lack of intelligent direction in our culture, but who were also at the same level of intelligence and wisdom. Collectively, many things had been said, ideas discussed, points pondered, and realizations made.
It was decided that their voices needed to be broadcast to the masses, if for no other reason than to sleep well at night knowing that they had tried. If the world wouldn’t listen and instead chose to blindly stumble through life into the same brick wall over and over, that was the world’s choice. But the staff of Hey Stupid would make a valiant effort to curb the tide of stupidity that was drowning what was left of humanity. Never intending to change the minds of people, or to directly lead the conscious of the masses one certain way or another, The Chosen Few decided to merely try to bring to light the obvious facts and harsh realities of what had become popular consensus. It was an attempt to hold the mirror up to the faces of the doomed and say “Look! Do you not see? You are covered in shit! Wash yourself in the cool waters of truth and wisdom, and go unto the masses thinking and deciding for yourself!”
Through the years, our minions have grown in numbers and strength. We have experimented with several ways to communicate our point, and thus far, it has evolved into a cynical and satirical commentary meant first to entertain, and secondly to educate.
It is up to the reader exactly how serious we should be taken, but we will say this: “Unless you agree with us completely, you are wrong.” A lot of what is included is made up of jokes that no one is supposed to get. It’s a way of proving our superiority. And though you (the reader) may not see the relevance, the meaning, or even the point of a lot of what we write, understand that there is a point to all of it. There’s a certain and definitive madness behind the method, and if you don’t get it, it’s not because we’re not making sense, it’s because you’re dumb.
