PSU Recruiting Update!

Connecticut RB Silas Redd, who many PSU fans are salivating over, has said that he is visiting on march 27th and if things go well, he is committing on the spot.

A couple people are predicting that the PSU class for 2010 will have 6-8 commits by June.

It has also been said that the only school who is doing better than PSU right now, for 2010, is Texas. Texas should have 7-8 commits by the end of this month. They have a junior day coming up that is all kids who are UT targets.

This is a whole new concept for PSU fans to have the staff chasing kids so early. It is especially a new concept as far as RBs are concerned. PSU never chases RBs this early.

Needs for 2010: (from Phil Grosz, no relation to Jim Groz)
==================

I still think the Lions need one additional quarterback and we’ll take a position-by-position look right here:

QB – Paul Jones and another

RB – 1 (Silas Redd leading candidate)

WR – 3 (I personally believe Penn Sate is in excellent shape with Adrian Coxson from Baltimore City College High and the Lions have also verbally offered Justin Hunter (6-4, 180) from Virginia Beach (Va.) Ocean Lakes, Brandon Ifill (6-1, 180) from Penn Hills (Pa.), Kyle Prater (6-4, 200) from Hillside (Ill.) Proviso West, Alex Kenney (6-1, 180) from State College (Pa.) and Kenny Stills (6-2, 180) from Encinitas (Calif.) La Costa Canyon)

OL – 3 (Already sent out offers to Seth Betancourt (6-5, 285) from Philadelphia (Pa.) St. Joe’s Prep and Robbie Havenstein (6-7, 330) from Frederick (Md.) Linganore)

TE – 2 (Because they lose both Quarless and Shuler)

DE – 2 (Offered Ego Ferguson (6-4, 245 from Frederick (Md.) St. John’s Prep, Denzel McCoy (6-4, 275) from Deluth (Ga.) Northview, Dakota Royer (6-4, 220) from Manheim (Pa.) Central, and Ken Wilkins (6-4, 240) from Washington (Pa.) Trinity

DT – 2

LB – 2 (Already have a commitment from Mike Hull and already offered Khairi Fortt (6-3, 215) from Stamford (Conn.), Jamel Turner (6-3, 210) from Youngstown (Ohio) Ursaline – already verballed to Ohio State – and Zak Zwinak (6-1, 225) from Frederick (Md.) Linganore)

DB – 3

Presently, BWI has identified 25 individuals that Penn State has already given verbal scholarship offers with written scholarship offers going out within a two week period following Signing Day.

Any more news, you know I wont hesitate to forward it to all the PSU fans!!!!
